CONTINENTAL DRIFT
(CS-6 science.1c)

Plate tectonics tells us that the continents are riding on large rocky plates and that the plates are floating on the earth's mantle. The mantle is liquid and is constantly in motion due to convection. This movement of the continents is called continental drift. Click the Nasa animation to see it happening.
