THE CHANGING EARTH.  HOW HUMAN AND WILDLIFE HABITATS CHANGE

(CS-6.science2d)

What are some of the natural forces which change the earth which we humans share with other creatures?  Certainly earthquakes are one of these forces.

VOLCANOES

Another world changing force is the volcano.  Volcanoes can spit out lava which can change both human and wildlife habitats.

LANDSLIDES

Landslides are another force which can alter the landscape very fast.  Landslides occur when a sloped surface becomes unstable because of water flowing under it or possibly because of earthquakes.  The surface becomes mobile and moves downhill resulting in what we call a landslide.

FLOODS

Floods also change habitats.  A flood occurs when a river overflows its banks after being filled beyond its capacity by rain.  Floods can ruin houses and cars and sweep animals and property away.
