So what is an omnivore?  Omnivores are animals who will eat almost anything.  Lets see some:

Did you know that people are omnivores?  Well we are.  Right teach?   Want to vist a website about omnivores (including people)?  Click here.

Since they are so important to the environment, let's have a closer look at decomposers.  This website is a good place to start.  Decomposers are experts at re-cycling.  They take dead plant or animal material, take it all apart and return it to the environment in a form that can be used by living plants and animals.  What a great service. If we didn't have decomposers, pollution problems would be a lot worse.  Here is another website about decomposers.

Yes, we are mushrooms and we are good decomposers.

From the 'Songs for Teaching' website.

Bacteria are some of the most important decomposers.  Want to see a few?  Bacteria are so small that you have to use a microscope to see them.

These pictures of bacteria were taken with an instrument called the electron microscope.  Like other animals, bacteria have names.  Teacher what are the names of these bacteria?

Here is a website about bacteria.  Want to try an interactive website about microorganismsClick here  Microorganisms is a word meaning very small creatures.  Most microorganisms are helpful to people but a few cause diseases.
