through the use of parentheses
The commutative property
states: In addition and multiplication, terms may be arbitrarily
interchanged, or commutated
The distributive property
states: In addition and multiplication, terms inside parentheses may
be multiplied before addition.
The closure property of real
numbers under addition and multiplication is a property of the set of all
real numbers.
